Taylor Swift (Taylor Alison Swift) is an American country-pop singer-songwriter born on December 13, 1989. She started writing songs and playing 12-string guitar when she was twelve. By the time she was fourteen, her family decided to move to an outlying NashvilleNashville's songwriters' venue, The Bluebird Café, catching the attention of Scott Borchetta who signed her to his newly-formed record label, Big Machine Records. She also became the youngest staff songwriter ever hired by the Sony/ATV Tree publishing house. suburb. When Swift was fifteen, she rejected a development deal with RCA Records because the company refused to allow her to record her own songs. Swift then performed at

Swift's singing influences include her grandmother, Tim McGraw and LeAnn Rimes. Although her grandmother was a professional opera singer, Taylor's tastes always ran more toward country and she developed a love for Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton at an early age. She also credits the Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain for demonstrating how much impact can be made by "stretching boundaries".

In 2006, she released her debut single "Tim McGraw", which peaked at number six on the Billboard country charts. Later in October 2006, she released her self-titled debut album, which produced five hit singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and was certified 3×Multi-Platinum by the RIAA. The New York Times described Swift as "one of pop's finest songwriters, country’s foremost pragmatist and more in touch with her inner life than most adults".

In November 2008, she released her second album, titled Fearless. Like the first album, it contains songs she's written and co-written.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, Swift was the biggest selling artist of 2008 in America with combined sales of more than four million albums. Swift's Fearless and her self-titled album finished 2008 at number three and number six respectively, with sales of 2.1 and 1.5 million.

new found glory
New Found Glory is an American pop punk band formed in mid-1997 from Coral Springs, Florida, now based in Los Angeles. The band consists of Jordan Pundik (lead vocals), Chad Gilbert (lead guitar, vocals), Steve Klein (rhythm guitar), Ian Grushka (bass) and Cyrus Bolooki (drums).

The band have typically portrayed a punk pop sound (alternative rock that combines power-pop melodies and chord changes with speedy punk tempos and loud guitars) but combine this with often hardcore style breakdowns and gang vocals. In 2008 they released a 6-track EP called, "Tip of The Iceberg" which displayed their earlier melodic hardcore influences. They have also explored a more classic rock style, driven by melody and chord progressions with 2006's album "Coming Home".

Steve Klein is the main lyricist while other members contribute to the musical arrangement and composition. Greenday and hardcore band Hatebreed are some of their influences.

Since forming back in 1997 the band have amassed a cult following, so far releasing six studio albums, with their latest, Not Without a Fight, released on March 10, 2009.
